🍕 Craft 64 is the best pizzeria in Arizona – and the 26th-best in the country – according to 50 Top Pizza, a well-regarded organization that unveiled its annual ranking of the Top 50 Pizzerias in the U.S. Tuesday night in New York.
Unlike rankings based on unverified user reviews (cough! Yelp!), 50 Top Pizza uses 1,000 anonymous inspectors who visit the pizzerias. Pizzerias are judged by quality of the dough and toppings, as well as customer service and wine and beverage lists.
Craft 64, which has locations in Old Town Scottsdale and downtown Chandler, debuted in the rankings at No. 50 in 2022, moved up to No. 30 in 2023, and was No. 32 last year.
The only other Arizona pizzeria to make this year’s ranking is Penelope Pizza (No. 42) in Tucson.
Pomo, which has two locations in Phoenix and another in Scottsdale, had made the list for three straight years before dropping off this year.
Phoenix’s iconic Pizzeria Bianco, which ranked fifth in the country in 2021 and 10th in 2022, failed to make the list for the second straight year.
New York’s legendary Una Pizza Napoletana was named the best pizzeria in the U.S. for the fourth straight year.
