🎬 Harkins Backlot, the new family entertainment concept from Valley-based theater chain Harkins, has made its debut at The Shops at Norterra in north Phoenix.
Inspired by Hollywood studio backlots, BackLot is a huge sports bar with a cinema-sized main screen, an indoor-outdoor bar, a patio with lawn games, interactive bowling, an arcade, virtual reality games, and party rooms.
Food highlights include a BackLot Philly Cheesesteak, Hangover Burger, Ahi Tuna Stack, and Warm S’mores Skillet Brownie. The bar serves local beers, select wines, and shareable cocktails.
As a grand-opening special, food and drink (excluding alcohol) and bowling are 25% off this month.
What BackLot doesn’t have is theaters. Harkins already has a nearby multiplex at the shopping center, which is located on the northeast corner of I-17 and Happy Valley.
(A second BackLot is planned for the upcoming Verrado Marketplace in Buckeye. It will feature movie theaters in the same building as the entertainment venue.)
Open 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-1 a.m. Friday-Saturday, and 11 a.m.-midnight Sunday.
