🍕 Amici Pizza, the Mesa pizzeria that went viral on social media and has drawn fans from across the country, opens a second location at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Queen Creek.
It has taken over the former Duck Donuts on the northeast corner of Signal Butte and Ocotillo.
Amici opened in 2019 as Buono’s Pizza, a reincarnation of a longtime neighborhood favorite that had closed after 30 years and several ownership changes.
After two months, the New York-style pizzeria changed its name to Amici Pizza.
Under new owners Vinny Pante and Kateri Cusumano, Amici has built a TikTok following of 303,000 subscribers and the couple’s behind-the-scenes videos of the lives of small restaurant owners have drawn more than 23 million views.
The visibility led to lines out the door at the pizzeria as social media followers from around the country made pilgrimages to the business.
Amici’s menu features whole pizzas and slices, pastas, and appetizers.
The new location will not offer online ordering or delivery until next week.
