🧀 The Melt, a San Francisco-based chain specializing in cheeseburgers, grilled cheese sandwiches, and mac and cheese, has opened its second Valley location at Novus Place near the northwest corner of University and Rural in Tempe.
The concept made its Arizona debut at PV, the redevelopment of the former Paradise Valley Mall, in January.
The Melt, whose 16 other locations all are in California, was founded in San Francisco in 2011 by tech mogul Jonathan Kaplan and originally sold only grilled cheese sandwiches and soup.
Now, the menu offers also burgers, chicken sandwiches, steak sandwiches, mac & cheese, and more.
The best-selling menu item is the Meltburger, six ounces of chopped Angus and Wagyu beef filled with pickled jalapeño mix and a double helping of cheese.
Desserts include Snickerdoodle milkshakes and brown butter marshmallow bars.
