🌮 Lujos Cocina Mexicana, a counter-service restaurant offering elevated Mexican food, has opened on the northeast corner of Val Vista and Elliot in Gilbert.
It takes over the space formerly home to Hunberto’s Mexican Food.
The interior has been redecorated with black walls, black booths, black dinnerware, black cutlery, and blacked-out windows for a sleek, refined vibe.
Menu highlights include carne asada fries, red and green enchilada plates, and the Lujo Burrito with carne asada, shrimp, and truffle fries.
A tongue-in-cheek Gilbert Gringo Plate consists of two hard-shell beef tacos, rice, and beans.
Breakfast burritos, chilaquiles, and breakfast plates are available until noon daily.
