🥟 Uncle Bao – a sibling of Uncle Panda, a popular dumpling and noodle house that debuted in Glendale in 2023 – has opened in Ahwatukee.
The casual Chinese restaurant takes over the space formerly home to Japanese restaurant Tabe-Mono on the northeast corner of Chandler and 42nd Street.
Uncle Bao’s signature menu item is the pork xiao long bao, soup dumplings made by hand daily and steamed fresh to order.
The menu isn’t as expansive as Uncle Panda’s, but instead focuses on a variety of boiled and pan-fried dumplings and hand-pulled noodles that also are made fresh daily.
Other Chinese entrees also are available.
