🧁 Sweet Impastries – a gluten-free gourmet bakery inspired by Chök, a well-known chocolate kitchen and pastelarîa in Barcelona, Spain – has opened on the southwest corner of Val Vita and Elliot in Gilbert.
Owner Dana Scott was so impressed by Chök’s gluten-free and vegan options during a trip to Barcelona that she convinced the owner of the Spanish shop to train her so she could launch her own family-run shop in the Valley.
The name Sweet Impastries – a combination of “imposters” and “pastries” – reflects her mission to create gluten-free pastries indistinguishable from traditional baked goods.
The menu features an array of decadent treats, led by four kind of cinnamon rolls – classic, apple, pistachio, and passion fruit. There also are muffins, cheesecakes, cookies, brownies, mini cakes, and even focaccia.
Six-inch cakes – pistachio, carrot, and Nutella and berries – also available.
