Ra Sushi ‘temporarily’ closes original location in Old Town Scottsdale

🚫 The original location of Ra Sushi in Old Town Scottsdale has been ‘‘temporarily closed for a major renovation,’’ according to its Denver-based parent company, The One Group.

Strangely, the location has been completely removed from Ra Sushi’s website, and The One Group has not identified any timetable for reopening.

Scott Kilpatrick, Rich Howland, Greg Donnally, and chef Tai Obata launched Ra Sushi on the southeast corner of Scottsdale and First Street in 1997.

They sold their four Valley locations to Benihana in 2002. The One Group bought the Benihana and Ra Sushi chains last year.

The One Group also owns the Kona Grill and STK Steakhouse chains. It recently closed STK in Old Town Scottsdale and is rumored to be looking for a new location. (Hmmm.)
