The Genuine shuts down after 3 years in uptown Phoenix

🚫 The Genuine, the flagship restaurant of Phoenix-based hospitality group Genuine Concepts, has closed after three years in uptown Phoenix.

It had taken over the space formerly home to one of its sister concepts, The Vig, in April 2022. Its menu focused on wood-fired dishes, including roasted chicken, pizzas, and pastas.

‘‘We didn’t make this decision lightly … but the time has come for us to expand our corporate office, and continue fueling the growth of The Vig and our other projects,” Genuine Concepts posted on social media.

Their other concepts include The Little Woody, The Womack, Ladera Taverna y Cocina, The McMillan, and Campo Italian Bistro & Bar.

‘‘The great news is that an innovative and excellent local hospitality company will be buying the building from us and bringing an all-new concept to the ‘hood,’’ they posted without identifying the company.
