🍺 The Narwhal Taproom & Bottleshop – the East Valley’s latest destination for hopheads, casual sippers, and anyone looking for a community-minded drinking spot – officially opens its doors at 4 p.m. today in southeast Mesa.
It takes over the former Taproom-120, which closed in March, near the northwest corner of the 202 and Power – next to Caldwell County BBQ and across the street from Revel Surf.
The project comes from husband-and-wife teams Tim and Billie McGovern and Allan and Kate Dyament, longtime Valley residents with a passion for beer and hospitality.
Their vision: To create a space that blends the comfort of a neighborhood bar with the selection of a serious bottleshop. Guests will find 30 rotating taps pouring everything from hazy IPAs to crisp lagers. as well as a curated selection of wines, small farm-to-table bites, and a wall of to-go coolers.
The Narwhal aims to be a social hub. So expect trivia nights, tap takeovers, beer education events, and more.
As part of its opening-week festivities, The Narwhal will host a grilled cheese pop-up by East Valley chef Adam Allison, a two-time Food Network champion, from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Friday.
