Arizona picks up 7 medals at Great American Beer Festival

🍺 One year after getting skunked, Arizona breweries and cideries rebounded to earn seven medals Saturday at the 39th annual Great American Beer Festival in Denver.

It’s the most medals for the state since it won eight in 2019.

GABF, one of the world’s largest commercial beer competitions, judged more than 8,300 beers this year from 1,555 breweries and cideries.

  • Dragoon Brewing in Tucson won a silver medal for its Tequila Barrel Aged Saison Blue in the Wood- and Barrel-Aged Beer category.
  • Slow Body Beer in Tucson won a silver for its Pal in American-Style Lager.
  • Saddle Mountain Brewing in Goodyear won a bronze for its Clandestine in Scottish-Style Ale.
  • OHSO Brewery in Gilbert won a bronze for its Sudoku in Herb and Spice Beer.
  • Pinnacle Brewing in Scottsdale won a bronze for its Ludwig in German-Style Maerzen.
  • LazyG Brewhouse in Prescott won a bronze for its M.O.E. in Italian-Style Pilsener.
  • Six Byrd Cider in Tempe won a bronze for its Cranberry Spice in Botanical or Spiced Cider.
