🌮 Funky Frida’s, a new Arcadia hotspot where the spirit of Frida Kahlo meets modern Mexican flair, has opened next to OHSO Brewery on the northeast corner of Indian School and 49th Street in east Phoenix.
Brought to life by the team behind OHSO, Funky Frida’s blends art, music, and flavor. The dining room pulses with color – think cobalt blues, magenta banquettes, and a massive portrait of Frida herself.
Mexican- and Latin-inspired small plates are built for sharing. House-made guacamole and duck carnitas tacos headline the starters, followed by mains like chipotle barbecue ribs, chile-glazed bone-in pork shank, and honey adobo roasted chicken.
A weekday lunch special offers a chicken taco, cheese enchilada, carne adovada tostada, rice, and beans for just $9.99 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Vegetarian options also are available, including portobello tacos, tamales verde, and a grilled vegetable bowl with creamy cilantro dressing.
The bar program leans heavy on agave spirits, with flights of tequila and mezcal, and signature cocktails like the Pablito’s Paloma and Mexican Espresso Martini.
