🍨 Portland’s artisan ice cream darlings are making another delicious mark on the Valley.
Salt & Straw officially opens its latest Arizona shop today at Uptown Plaza on the northeast corner of Central and Camelback in Phoenix, adding to a lineup that already includes Gilbert and Novus Place.
Translation: Phoenix now has even easier access to pints of honey-laced sweetness, wild seasonal collabs, and flavors that taste like someone handed a culinary lab to Willy Wonka.
To celebrate the opening, Salt & Straw teamed up with Lawrence Smith (yeah, the James Beard-nominated chef) of Mexican restaurant Chilte to create an Arizona-exclusive flavor: Mole de Novia with Brown Butter Plantains.
Think silky mole novia white chocolate fudge ribbons swirling around warm, brown-buttered plantains – deep, fragrant, a little unexpected, and totally Phoenix.
It’s a story in a scoop. And it’s only through this weekend with 100% of proceeds supporting Southern Smoke Foundation, a nonprofit providing mental health care access for hospitality workers.
