🍗 Anchor Bar – the iconic Buffalo, N.Y., bar where the ubiquitous Buffalo wing was created – has opened its first Arizona outpost in Tucson.
It takes over the former Brushfire BBQ Co. space in the Fry’s plaza on the southwest corner of Kolb and 22nd Street.
In 1964, bartender Dominic Bellissimo’s mother combined deep-fried wings and her own secret sauce to serve to his friends, according to Anchor Bar.
The original bar was given an America’s Classics Award from the James Beard Foundation Award in 2003.
Wings now come in 13 sauce and five dry-rub options. The menu also offers starters, pizzas, and pastas.
