Akamaru joins restaurant-rich shopping center in north Scottsdale

🇯🇵 Akamaru , a family-run modern Japanese restaurant offering ‘‘Tokyo-meets-New York’’ fare, has opened in north Scottsdale.

It takes over the former Duck Donuts space in the Sonora Village shopping center on the southwest corner of Pima and Frank Lloyd Wright.

Akamaru’s menu features onigirazu (rice sandwiches) and donburi (rice bowls) during the day, and an izakaya-style menu of sashimi, tempura, and small seasonal plates at night.

Its shopping center now includes four recently opened side-by-side restaurants – Saigon District Pho & Boba, Veda Indian Cuisine, bb.q Chicken, and Akamaru – next to Paradise Valley Burger Company.
