🦉 Night Owl Pizza & Drinks officially lands in Tempe at 11 a.m. Wednesday, bringing its retro-cool mix of pinball, New York-style slices, smashburgers, and all-day patio vibes to the southwest corner of Mill and Alameda.
The concept from the team behind Little Woody and Cobra Arcade Bar debuted in south Scottsdale in 2023.
Its second location takes over the building that was home to Riazzi’s Italian Garden for 27 years. Since Riazzi’s closed in 2017, it’s been home to Quartiere and, most recently, The Golden Pineapple.
The space has been completely reimagined with a central bar crowned by a glowing countertop crafted from vintage pinball playfields. The 5,500-square-foot layout lets guests choose their own adventure: a dedicated dining room, an arcade packed with pinball and classic games, or a fireplace-lined garden patio.
Inside, the design leans proudly retro with mismatched barstools, funky furnishings, vintage skateboard art, and a host stand built from skate wheels. Even the entrance – shaped like an owl when the doors close – sets the tone.
Chef Greg Ziegler’s menu brings back the hits: smashburgers, crispy wings (bourbon BBQ, honey hot, Wise Style), loaded fries, garlic knots, mac bites, and cheeky pizzas like Pretty Fly for a White Pie and Sidewalk Surfer.
Arizona-inspired cocktails (Saguaro Slammer, Little Woody, Moonage Daydream), local drafts, and nostalgic “Bell Ringer” shots round it out.
