🚔 Tempe Tavern just landed back in the spotlight – and not in the way any bar wants.
Tempe police say 249 people were arrested or cited in one night during a massive underage-drinking sting Thursday, marking the second major sweep at the Apache and McClintock bar this year.
According to Tempe PD, 57 officers carried out the operation after a spike in complaints. Most of the arrests involved fake IDs, underage possession, and giving false info to police.
The aftermath: 246 people were cited and released, three were booked, and one arrestee was under 18. The Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control is now handling potential liquor-law violations.
It’s déjà vu for Tempe Tavern: 173 arrests were made there in a single night in April.
