Tandy’s opens Friday in former Binkley’s space in midtown Phoenix

🍵 Midtown Phoenix gets a fresh hangout this Friday with the debut of Tandy’s, taking over the former Binkley’s building most recently home to a short-lived resurrection of The Larder & The Delta.

The bright new café-restaurant from chef Tandy Peterson, formerly of Mowry & Cotton at The Phoenician and creator of Embers Chocolate, serves breakfast, lunch, and an unexpectedly deep coffee-and-cocktail lineup.

Morning starts strong with soft-scrambled breakfast burritos, pepper-jammed breakfast sandwiches, and a sunny-up avocado toast stacked with goat cheese, sauerkraut, chili crunch, and crispy kale.

Lunch brings chef-y sandwiches and salads, including a rare beef baguette with Gruyere and horseradish mayo, a juicy smashburger with charred onions and “T’s Sauce,” a spicy Calabrese loaded with ’nduja and Taleggio, and a crispy chicken sando built with herb ricotta and chamomile hot sauce.

The drink program leans elevated café-by-day, bar-by-night. Think matcha, cortados, hot chocolate flights, cold brew, and specialty sips like the Embers mocha latte and Mayan Heat drinking chocolate.

Evening cocktails include a 5 C’s Clover Club, Honey Buttered Bourbon, and the mole-spiced Mole Maria, plus local beers and a tidy wine list.
