Edo Japanese Grill opens 2nd Valley location in Scottsdale

🥢 Edo Japanese Grill, a Japanese fast-casual chain that made its Arizona debut in Chandler earlier this year, has opened a second Valley location at Scottsdale Fashion Square’s Palm Court.

Core menu items are made to order using a signature teriyaki sauce and cooked on a 450-degree teppan grill. Highlights include teriyaki chicken bowls, poke bowls, sushi rolls, and build-your-own bento boxes.

Edo takes its name from the original name of Tokyo. The chain is based in Calgary, Alberta, where the first restaurant was founded by a Japanese Buddhist minister in 1979.

Edo expanded across Canada and made inroads into the United States in the 1980s and ’90s, exclusively in shopping mall food courts, before deciding in 2006 to close all non-Canada locations.

Edo is working on a third Valley location at The Gilmore in south Gilbert. It’s expected to open in late 2026.
