🧁 Sprinkles Cupcakes – the boutique bakery that helped launch the modern cupcake craze in the mid-2000s – has closed its Scottsdale location as part of a nationwide shutdown.
Candace Nelson, who founded Sprinkles in Beverly Hills, Calif., in 2005 but sold the company to a private equity group in 2014, revealed in a social media post Wednesday that all 21 locations have permanently closed.
The company has issued no statement.
The Scottsdale shop opened in 2008 on the northeast corner of Scottsdale and Camelback roads. It added an off-hours Cupcake ATM machine in 2014.
