One of the West Valley’s most-anticipated new restaurants has been 86ed.
Tavern Park – a two-story venue with a sports bar, climate-controlled indoor park, rooftop lounge, and nightclub all under one roof – planned to replace the closed Modern Round at Peoria’s P83 entertainment district.
The 13,000-square-foot project (shown in artist rendering) from Lookout Tavern owner Kevin Stout was to accommodate 550 guests. It was announced in late 2024 with expectations of opening near the southwest corner of the Loop 101 and Bell last summer.
‘‘As many of you already know, the Tavern Park project has stalled and, at this point, we have been forced to abandon it,’’ Stout says. ‘‘After exhausting every reasonable option to move it forward, we made the difficult decision to discontinue development.
‘‘As much as we wanted to bring Tavern Park to life, it will not be moving forward.
‘‘We invested a substantial amount of time, energy, and capital into getting this project off the ground. Early on, we had real momentum and a lot of optimism. But in the end, the broader economic environment, paired with investor interest not coming together at the level required, made it impossible to proceed responsibly.’’
