Kajiken brings Japan’s soup-less ramen to Desert Ridge

🍜 Desert Ridge Marketplace in northeast Phoenix has added a new international flavor to its dining lineup with the opening of Kajiken, a Japan-based ramen concept making its Arizona debut.

Founded in Nagoya, Kajiken is best known for abura soba – a style of soup-less ramen where flavor comes from a rich blend of sauce and aromatic oil rather than broth.

Instead of swimming noodles, diners mix everything together, coating thick, chewy noodles with savory, umami-packed seasoning designed to be stirred thoroughly before eating.

At Kajiken, those noodles and sauces are made in-house and imported directly from Japan, ensuring the experience stays true to the brand’s roots.

Guests at the 1,720-square-foot restaurant can customize their bowls with a variety of toppings, building layers of flavor and texture, or opt for other Japanese favorites that round out the menu.
