🇪🇸 Telefèric Barcelona, a world-renowned tapas restaurant known for its modern takes on Spanish classics, officially has opened its doors at Scottsdale Fashion Square, bringing a splash of Catalan energy (and plenty of sangria) to the Valley.
The restaurant was founded by siblings Xavi and Ferran Padrosa in Sant Cugat del Vallès, Spain, in 1992, and later added a location in nearby Barcelona. It then came to the U.S., where it has six locations in California and now one in Arizona.
The 6,676-square-foot Scottsdale restaurant offers coastal cuisine with a Californian twist.
The menu is built for grazing with tapas like patatas bravas (crispy potatoes with a spicy tomato sauce), pulpo Telefèric (grilled octopus with pimentón potato purée), and gambas al ajillo (shrimp in garlic).
Signature paellas include Paella Negra (made with squid ink, shrimp, and octopus) and Lobster Paella.
For those with substantial appetites, entrees include a 40-ounce Catalan Tomahawk steak featuring beef imported from Spain and an Iberian pork steak with Parmentier foam and cocido sauce.
The beverage program features premium Spanish wines and sangrias, and also porróns (glass pitchers used to pour wine directly into the mouth).
