👩🏽🍳 Kelly Yu, owner of Kawaii Sushi & Asian Cuisine in Peoria and Glendale, has been released after nearly nine months in custody at an ICE detention facility in Eloy, according to Fox 10 News.
Yu, who fled China two decades ago and has been seeking asylum, was released after a judge granted her habeas corpus petition alleging the government had detained her illegally.
Her immigration case has not been resolved and she is required to wear an ankle monitor.
