🇮🇳 Dakshin, a restaurant specializing in the bold, spice-driven cuisine of southern India, has opened at Desert Ridge Marketplace in north Phoenix.
The new restaurant highlights dishes from the southern Indian states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh – regions known for coconut-rich curries, fragrant rice dishes, and crispy fermented breads.
The menu features staples like dosas (thin, crepe-like pancakes made from fermented rice and lentils), idlis (steamed rice cakes), and vadas (savory fried doughnuts), alongside curries, biryanis, and tandoori specialties.
Diners also will find seafood dishes, spicy chicken preparations, and vegetarian favorites such as sambar, rasam, and coconut-based chutneys.
Open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Sunday.
