🚫 Giuseppe’s on 28th, an award-winning Italian restaurant that has been featured on the Food Network twice, has closed on the northeast corner of Indian School and 28th Street in east Phoenix.
The reason? Chef-owner Richard Bock, who bought the restaurant in 2002, has decided to retire.
A professional cellist, Bock fell in love with Italian cuisine while playing in Italy. After returning to the United States, he was principal cellist for the Phoenix Symphony from 1984 to 2008.
Giuseppe’s was featured on ‘‘Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives’’ in 2009 and its spinoff ‘‘Triple D Nation’’ in 2024.
‘‘It has been a great pleasure to share food, stories, and make connections with our customers in the past twenty years,’’ the restaurant posted on social media.
