🚫 Mon Cheri – the Old Town Scottsdale restaurant that made national headlines in November when two alleged burglars were caught on camera having sex on its patio – has closed after two years in business.
The female-focused champagne café and charcuterie bar had taken over the former Arcadia Farms Cafe space near the northeast corner of Goldwater and First Avenue.
(Arcadia Farms had sold the longtime property in 2022 and moved its cafe across First Avenue.)
In a long Instagram video, Mon Cheri owner Elexsis Caliskan blamed the closure on a five-year legal battle with her ex-husband, a court’s refusal to let her see her children, and her bank’s decision to call in her loan.
With what she calls ‘‘the forces of evil coming for my business,’’ she says she’s decided to ‘‘surrender.’’
‘‘So I’ve made the decision to close Mon Cheri and to walk away from all of this,’’ she says.
