Wednesday’s top Tax Day food & drink deals across the Valley

The 1040 is filed. The refund is (hopefully) incoming. Now comes the real reward: free food. Phoenix is lousy with Tax Day deals on Wednesday, and I’ve done the homework so you don’t have to. Here are the offers worth knowing about:

🍩 The Sweet Stuff

Krispy Kreme is running a generous doughnut deal: buy one dozen original glazed or assorted and get a second dozen for free. Limit of two dozen per customer in-store, or one when ordering online for pickup or delivery. Use promo code TAXBREAK if ordering online.

Dairy Queen is keeping it simple: buy one Blizzard and get another for 99 cents with the DQ app.

Nothing Bundt Cakes rewards members can earn 50 bonus points with any cake purchase on Tax Day. Not a freebie, but points add up fast toward free bundtlets.

🥪 Sandwiches

Subway Sub Club members can get their favorite footlong for free with the purchase of another footlong through April 28 via the Subway app or website using promo code FLBOGO. Additionally, Subway is giving 1,040 customers who purchase a sandwich on April 15 a full refund — a nod to that infamous tax form number.

Potbelly is doing a BOGO: a free Original size sandwich or wrap with the purchase of any Big or Original size sandwich or wrap, valid for digital orders via the shop’s site or app using promo code BOGO.

Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop is offering rewards members a free combo upgrade – chips and a fountain drink – with the purchase of any sub. Apply the reward during checkout online or in-app, or scan your app in-store.

Mr. Pickle’s Sandwich Shop is rolling out a one-day-only “Toast to Tax Day” special. The exact offer will be revealed Wednesday, but it’ll be exclusively available to rewards members.

🍕 Pizza & Casual Dining

Pizza Hut has a deal that doesn’t require an app or a rewards card: a large 3-topping pizza starting at $10, available in-person, online, or through its app. Available with Hand Tossed, Tavern Style, or Thin ‘N Crispy crust.

Grimaldi’s Pizzeria is doing something genuinely useful: $10.40 off purchases of $40 or more when you use promo code TAXDAY26 at checkout. Offer valid online, in-app, and in-store.

BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse is offering $10 off any $40 dine-in or takeout purchase on April 15 – the perfect excuse to order that Pizookie you’ve been eyeing.

Olive Garden is running its popular Buy One, Take One through May 3: enjoy a free take-home entrée with the purchase of an entrée in-restaurant. Both dishes come from a select menu.

🌮 Tacos, Burritos & Southwest Fare

Qdoba is leaning into its whole guac-is-free identity with “Tax Day Guac Relief.” Rewards members earn $5 off an entrée by filling out a short survey about a time they’ve had to pay extra for guacamole elsewhere. The discount is redeemable between April 20-26.

Del Taco is going big with multiple simultaneous deals: a free Snack Taco with a $5 purchase, buy one, get one free Beer Battered Crispy Fish Tacos, and $1 Grilled Chicken Tacos.

🥩 BBQ & Burgers

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit has multiple Valley locations and is offering $10 off orders of $50 or more with code WRITEOFF, available online and through the Dickey’s app.

Shake Shack is getting in on it too: through April 27, customers can get a free single Black Truffle Burger, Black Truffle Shroom, or Black Truffle Parmesan Fries with a $10.40 or more order.

Burger King gets a helpful assist from the calendar this year with Whopper Wednesday falling on April 15. Royal Perks members can enjoy a Whopper for just $3.99 or an Impossible Whopper for $4.99.

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is rewarding app users with 250 bonus points for any purchase, redeemable on future orders.

🍗 Chicken

KFC isn’t running a single-day Tax Day special, but is mid-promotion on its new Value Feast boxes: three KFC Box Feasts priced at $7, $9, and $11, each including fries and a medium drink.

Popeyes is deep into its $5 Faves Menu through May 3, with five options all at five bucks: Signature Chicken, chicken sandwich, tenders, wraps, and sides.

🍹 Drinks & Going Out

Applebee’s is offering two drink specials worth knowing about: a Watermelon Mana Margarita for $6 and an Adiós Long Island Ice Tea for $6. Pair with their 2-for-$25 meal deal for even more savings.

Chili’s is keeping its monthly margarita deal running through Tax Day: the Peachy Dream Marg (made with Lunazul Blanco Tequila, Monin White Peach, Monin Grenadine, orange juice, and house-made sour) for just $6.

Bluewater Grill will have all handcrafted cocktails priced at $10.40 for savings up to $5.

🍔 Sports Bars

Buffalo Wild Wings is offering all the appetizers you can eat for just $9.99, dine-in only. Choices include mozzarella sticks, fried pickles, Hatch queso, chips & salsa, and onion rings. For an extra $3, upgrade to cheese curds or chips & guacamole.

As always, confirm deals at your specific location before heading out – participation and availability can vary.
