Barrio, Pedal Haus win medals at prestigious World Beer Cup

🍺 Two Arizona breweries won medals this week at the 2026 World Beer Cup in Philadelphia – often called the ‘‘Olympics of beer’’ – competing against 8,166 entries from 1,644 breweries across 50 nations.

Tucson’s Barrio Brewing (pictured) took home gold in the Brown Porter category for its beloved Nolan’s Porter, a dark brew the brewery has crafted since 1994 to honor its brewmaster’s son.

It’s the second World Beer Cup medal overall for Barrio, which operates a Valley outpost in southeast Mesa.

Meanwhile, Chandler-based Pedal Haus Brewery earned silver in the International Light Lager category for its Day Drinker Light Lager – a crushable, low-ABV crowd-pleaser that’s become a Valley staple.
