🦞 An Orange County favorite is bringing its coastal Asian flavors to the Valley – and you can snag a table starting today.
Starfish Scottsdale, the first Arizona outpost of the California-based Starfish Hospitality Group, opens its doors for limited reservations beginning today ahead of its grand opening Tuesday.
It’s moved into the space formerly home to Mexican restaurants Agave del Scottsdale and then, briefly, Okay Maguey on the northwest corner of Hayden and Vía de Ventura in McCormick Ranch.
Founded in 2011 by husband-and-wife team Gretchen and Archie McConnell, the group already operates popular California locations in Laguna Beach and Newport Beach, so the Scottsdale expansion is a big deal.
The menu draws inspiration from the coastal regions of Thailand, Korea, Vietnam, China, and Japan, with more than 70 shareable plates designed for grazing and gathering.
A few standouts to put on your radar: the Lobster Macadamia Roll, Braised BBQ Pork Buns, Thai Curry Chicken, and Candy Dragon Prawns.
Pair any of those with a handcrafted cocktail or a pour of hot or cold sake and you’ve got yourself a pretty solid meal.
The 5,200-square-foot space features 90 seats on a lush, tropical-inspired patio alongside a redesigned interior dressed in custom artwork meant to transport guests straight to Southeast Asia.
Open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
