🚫 Downtown Phoenix lost one of its quietly beloved corners over the weekend. Aftermarket, a hole-in-the-wall coffee shop and underground art gallery tucked into the northwest corner of Grand Avenue and McKinley, shut down for good after eight years.
Aftermarket was launched by Valley artist Gino Belassen, owner of uptown Phoenix gallery Belhaus, in 2018. ‘‘This space was never meant to be anything more than an art studio, until we found it,’’ he wrote in a farewell post on Instagram.
The post signed off with gratitude for the run and a simple promise that this isn’t really goodby, just a ‘‘see you around.’’
