🐓 Bojangles officially opened its debut Arizona location Monday on the northeast corner of Val Vista and Melrose just south of Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, part of a planned 20-restaurant rollout across the Valley.
Doors opened at 5 a.m. sharp, and hundreds of eager fans lined up early for Cajun-seasoned fried chicken, made-from-scratch buttermilk biscuits, and signature sweet tea.
Guests could even watch the biscuit-making magic happen live at a ‘‘biscuit theater.’’
The North Carolina chain – founded in 1977 – brings its Southern comfort-food staples like dirty rice, mac and cheese, and sweet potato pie to the East Valley.
Open 5 a.m.-11 p.m. daily.
An Avondale location is already in the works for next year.

🥐 5°C Bakery Cafe: The Taiwanese bakery-café chain, known for its salt coffee and fresh-baked breads, has opened its third Arizona location on the southeast corner of McDowell Road and 107th Avenue in Avondale. Stop in to try their famous pastries, cakes, and drinks. Other locations are in Chandler and Glendale.
🍣 Kawaii Sushi & Asian Cuisine: The family-run Japanese-Chinese fusion restaurant has opened its third location – and second in Peoria – at Vistancia on the southeast corner of El Mirage Road and Lone Mountain Parkway. The menu features hand-made sushi rolls, ramen, and traditional Asian wok dishes.
Seafood City opening date
🦀 After nearly two years of anticipation, Seafood City finally has a move-in date: The Filipino grocery chain opens its first Arizona store at 9 a.m. Thursday, July 30, in Chandler.
The 65,000-square-foot store – taking over the former Sears upper level at Chandler Fashion Center – brings live seafood tanks, a Filipino/Asian food court, in-store bakery, and iconic treats like Halo Halo to the Valley.
