Born & Bred, the casual downtown Chandler sibling of north Phoenix’s popular New American spot Aftermath, closed its doors Monday – and when it reopens Friday, it’ll look and taste a little different.
The restaurant, located on the northwest corner of Arizona Avenue and Buffalo Street in the space formerly occupied by Tucson-based Truland Burgers & Greens, opened at the start of 2024. A second location followed in Scottsdale in April 2024.
This week’s changes go beyond a summer cleaning in preparation for the ‘‘season.’’ According to owner Charles Barber, Born & Bred will debut:
- New interior seating
- A remodeled patio
- A new menu
The restaurant will remain open for lunch and dinner seven days a week once it reopens.
“We’re going for a more casual all-day-style cafe feel and pivoting our prices and menu to help people with inflation going on – helping them be able to eat out or go out for drinks without breaking the bank,” Barber says.
The refresh comes as Barber is also getting ready to launch his next project: Rosewood, taking over the former Lo-Lo’s Chicken & Waffles space in downtown Gilbert. He’s currently eyeing an Aug. 21 opening.
