Beverly Hills-born bistro coming to Scottsdale Fashion Square

🥂 Porta Via, a Beverly Hills-born bistro and bar, is bringing its first Arizona restaurant to Scottsdale Fashion Square, taking over the former Zinqué space in the mall’s West Luxury Wing — a stretch near Camelback Road that’s already home to Nobu, Toca Madera, Catch, and Elephante.

Zinqué closed the space in June after six years. Porta Via is targeting an early 2027 opening.

Peter Garland opened the original four-table Porta Via (“take away” in Italian) in Beverly Hills in 1994 and has grown it into a small chainlet in Pacific Palisades, Calabasas, and Palm Desert. At 6,300 square feet, Scottsdale will be his biggest location yet.

At Porta Via’s existing locations, the kitchen leans into bright, produce-forward plates. The house-specialties section anchors around seafood: New Zealand king salmon, miso-glazed black cod, parmesan-crusted halibut, and a whole grilled branzino, alongside a brick-pressed roasted chicken and a grass-fed filet mignon.

On the pasta side, the rigatoni in spicy vodka sauce and the beef-and-veal rigatoni bolognese are recurring standouts, and the ahi tuna tower – sticky rice, mango, avocado, and a spicy scallion mayo – shows up as a signature starter across locations. Salads get real attention too, with the kale-and-quinoa salad and a Champagne-shallot vinaigrette-dressed house salad as staples.

The bar program is built around house-infused spirits and seasonal produce, with cocktails like the jalapeño-tequila La Piña Picante and the elderflower-and-prosecco Pali Spritz alongside a deep, mostly West Coast wine list.

Weekend brunch runs its own menu – Grand Marnier French toast, huevos rancheros, and an Eggs Royale swapping in smoked salmon – plus a full juice bar with fresh-pressed options like Fully Green and The Triangle.

It’s a big year for the brand. Porta Via is also rebuilding its fire-damaged Pacific Palisades spot and opening a new Beverly Hills flagship. Both are scheduled before the Scottsdale opening.
