🕹️ Downtown Tempe’s arcade-bar scene is about to level up. Level 1 Arcade Bar is preparing to open on the northeast corner of Mill Avenue and University Drive. Owner Scott Goldsmith hopes to launch by Nov. 1.
The space has a long history: it spent 2015 to 2025 as a Pita Jungle, and before that, Ruby Tuesday held down the spot for years as one of Mill Avenue’s longtime chain anchors.
The new venue will bring Level 1’s mix of restored arcade games, pinball machines, food, beer, and cocktails to Mill, with a full kitchen serving burgers, wings, tacos, quesadillas, burritos, bowls, salads, fries, tots, and nachos.
Expect 20 draft beers and 22 signature cocktails, with happy hour 3-7 p.m. Monday-Friday. Guests under 21 can visit with a parent or guardian before 7 p.m.; after that, it’s 21 and up.
This will be Level 1’s second active location, joining its Downtown Mesa bar. The original Gilbert spot closed in early 2025, but another is scheduled to open at The Gilmore in Gilbert in 2027.
