🍞 French Toast Cafe, an all-day breakfast and brunch spot that has built a following in southeast Mesa, is doubling its footprint today with the opening of a second location in south Tempe.
The new restaurant sits on the southwest corner of Elliot and Hardy, taking over the space that formerly housed Kyoto Bowl. Like its original location, the Tempe cafe will serve breakfast, brunch, and lunch.
French Toast Cafe first opened in February 2025 at Sossaman and Guadalupe, where it quickly earned a loyal crowd for its stacked French toast flights, stuffed options like Nutella and Dubai chocolate, and a menu that stretches well past the griddle into omelets, breakfast burritos, sandwiches, and burgers.
The Mesa location’s colorful, diner-bright decor and family-friendly vibe helped it become a regular stop for the neighborhood, and the growing lines are a big part of why ownership decided it was time to expand.
The Tempe location will have that same menu (and presumably similar lines). As a soft-opening special, diners will receive 10% off their meals today through Thursday..
French Toast Cafe is open 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily.
