Middle Eastern concept De Babel opens 2nd Scottsdale location

🧆 De Babel, the Middle Eastern fast-casual concept that built a cult following near the Scottsdale Airpark, has opened a second location at The Edge, a retail development on the northeast corner of the Loop 101 and 90th Street – just four miles south of the original.

Founder and CEO Marwan Kandeel, who brings more than two decades of restaurant experience (including stints with Cinnabon and Five Guys before launching his own concept five years ago), says the timing wasn’t accidental.

‘‘We’ve never believed in growing for the sake of growth,’’ Kandeel said. ‘‘For the past five years, our priority has been earning our guests’ trust by delivering exceptional food and hospitality every single day.’’

New location, same menu

Considered De Babel’s flagship, the new location features the same fan-favorite dishes – chicken tawook, hand-carved shawarma, and lamb kafta – in a larger, more contemporary space.

Rather than reinventing the menu, the expansion relies on a new central kitchen and commissary designed to maintain high quality and consistency as the brand grows.

De Babel has earned real credibility beyond its loyal local customer base, including multiple appearances on Yelp’s Top 100 Places to Eat in America.
