🍝 There’s a new secret in North Scottsdale, and it’s not staying quiet for long. Il Segreto (Italian for ‘‘the secret’’) has opened on the northeast corner of Pima and Pinnacle Peak.
The concept leans into its name: a hidden-gem feel built around seasonal cooking, exceptional wines, and an atmosphere that invites you to slow down and stay awhile.
That philosophy shows up in the restaurant’s layout – a lively bar and lounge up front for those who just want cocktails and a few small plates, and a more understated, elegant dining room in back for the full sit-down experience.
What’s on the menu
Seasonal Italian classics take center stage. Pasta standouts include the Spaghetti Il Segreto with tomato water and confit cherry tomatoes, Mafaldine di Mare with dayboat scallops and Salt Spring Island mussels, and a rich 12-hour beef ragù Tajarin Bolognese.
From the secondi, look for Pollo alla Diavola (Calabrian marinated chicken), a 10-ounce K4 Ranch New York strip with demi-glace, and a Lamb Osso Buco served with creste di gallo ragù and salsa verde.
It’s a fine-dining price point – expect to spend $50+ per person – and reservations are recommended, especially on weekends.
Il Segreto is open 4-9 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday.
