Downtown Mesa pretzel shop The Salted Knot is closing – for real this time.
After initially announcing a permanent closure in May, then reversing course in June while searching for a buyer, the search has ended. Owners Maria Vassett and Chad Day have found their buyer: Sidewalk Coffee & Bagels will be taking over the space.
The Salted Knot’s last day will be Sunday, Oct. 18. Days and hours will stay the same right up until closing, so there’s still plenty of time to grab your favorite pretzel bites, brats, bombs, knots, or paninis.
The duo also plans to bring in a jazz band for a few send-off performances before the final weekend. Frozen pretzels will be available for anyone looking to stock the freezer.
It’s been nearly six years of pretzel-slinging from home kitchen to farmers markets to a Main Street storefront. Get in your goodbyes – and your last knots – before Oct. 18.
