Seafood lovers in north Mesa, grab your bibs. Angry Crab Shack celebrates the grand opening of its newest restaurant today on the southeast corner of Gilbert and McKellips.
The opening marks the 19th Valley location for the homegrown seafood chain, which Ron Lou launched in Mesa in 2013. Over the past 13 years, Angry Crab Shack has built a loyal following with its messy, hands-on seafood boils and bold Asian-Cajun flavors.
At north Mesa, diners will find the same menu favorites that have made the brand a Valley staple. Shrimp, crab, lobster, and crawfish are served by the pound and tossed in a choice of house seasoning blends, with classic seafood boil sides rounding out the meal.
‘‘We’re excited to bring Angry Crab Shack to north Mesa and give even more guests the opportunity to experience the flavors, hospitality, and fun that have made the brand a favorite across Arizona,’’ Lou says.
To mark today’s opening, the restaurant is hosting a full day of community celebrations. Highlights include a spicy wing-eating competition, a live DJ spinning music throughout the day, and a balloon artist to keep the kids entertained.
Guests can also try their luck at a spin-to-win table with prizes up for grabs, including a TV grand prize.
Limited grand-opening hours are 3-9 p.m. today, 3-10 p.m. Friday-Saturday, and 3-9 p.m. Sunday.
