The Valley’s breakfast scene keeps getting better, and this fall brings a fresh batch of places to start your day. A California favorite has made its Arizona debut, a father-son team has opened a new spot in North Scottsdale, and a Southwest-inspired eatery is bringing scratch cooking to Chandler. Here are three new breakfast spots worth setting your alarm for.

EggBred in Phoenix (and soon Mesa)
Southern California’s breakfast sandwich specialist has crossed the state line. EggBred, which chef Albert Shim launched in La Habra in 2020, made its Arizona debut on the northeast corner of McDowell and Seventh Avenue in central Phoenix.
The fast-casual concept cooks with fresh-cracked eggs, makes its sauces in-house, and serves custom English muffins and Japanese milk buns.
Start with the Scramble Me Softly, which stacks soft-scrambled eggs, chives, caramelized onions, sharp cheddar, and smoked paprika spread on a toasted milk bun.
Bigger appetites should go for the Ribeye California burrito, filled with ribeye asada, avocado, eggs, beer-battered potatoes, cheddar jack, and avocado cilantro crema, or the Breakfast Poutine, where buttermilk popcorn chicken, country sausage gravy, and a soft-poached egg sit on top of beer-battered potatoes.
Save room for the Mixed Berry Cheesecake Waffle, a Belgian waffle finished with cheesecake drizzle and mixed berry compote.
East Valley diners won’t have to wait long for their own: a second Valley location is coming soon at Elliot and Ellsworth in southeast Mesa.
Open 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Friday and 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday-Sunday.

The Breakfast Table in Scottsdale
Ken Vondra and his son know their way around a restaurant. The pair have owned and operated four restaurants together, and their newest, The Breakfast Table, brings a family-owned breakfast and lunch spot to the former OEB Breakfast Co. space on the southeast corner of Scottsdale and Chauncey Lane in north Scottsdale.
Fittingly, one of the specialties is Dad’s Breakfast Sandwich: two over-hard eggs, your pick of bacon, sausage or ham, and cheese on a brioche bun. The Sunrise Skillet layers chorizo, pepper jack, fresh avocado and avocado-lime crema over breakfast potatoes, served with two eggs and a biscuit.
If you’d rather go sweet, choose between banana walnut pancakes drizzled with honey and French-style crêpes filled with vanilla custard and berries.
Lunch brings half-pound Angus burgers and wraps like the Arizona, with grilled chicken, bacon, pepper jack and avocado. There are also sandwiches such as the New Yorker, with pastrami, Swiss and smoked mustard on marble rye.
Weekend brunch-goers get one more reason to visit: cocktails and mimosas are on offer, including mimosa flights.
Open 7 a.m.-2 p.m. daily.

Red Brick Eatery in Chandler
Southwestern flavor meets scratch-made comfort food at Red Brick Eatery, an LGBTQ family-owned restaurant serving scratch-made breakfast, lunch, and weekend brunch on the northeast corner of Alma School and Warner.
The Southwestern side of the menu, where breakfast is served all day, includes the Sonoran benedict with pork carnitas, a poached egg, and chipotle hollandaise. There are also chilaquiles made with house-made tortilla chips simmered in red or green salsa, topped with roasted corn, black beans, cotija and two sunny-side-up eggs.
Comfort classics get equal attention, including Jack’s chicken fried steak smothered in scratch sausage gravy, chicken and waffles with hot honey whipped butter, and cinnamon roll French toast on thick-cut brioche.
Don’t skip the bakery case, which holds scones, muffins, fresh cinnamon rolls, and brown butter chocolate chip cookies.
Open 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday-Friday and 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday-Sunday.
