Saint Urban closes in Scottsdale, reborn as private dining room

Saint Urban, the neighborhood wine bar and brasserie from Valley restaurateur and chef Christopher Collins, has closed at McCormick Ranch in central Scottsdale after less than two years.

MXSW readers who were dining there last night, the final night of Arizona Restaurant Week, say they learned of the abrupt closing at the same time as the staff.

In a statement to Mouth By Southwest, the restaurant said:

‘‘As of September 28th, Saint Urban has transitioned to the Saint Urban Private Dining Room, available for holiday parties, memorable events, and life’s most important moments.

Our full Collins Catering Collective team is ready to assist in building your perfect event, and we’re excited to add this hidden gem to our event space portfolio. Dates are already booking through the end of 2026 and into 2027.

Saint Urban opened in November 2024 on the northwest corner of Hayden and Via de Ventura in the space formerly home to Rockefeller, Collins’ seafood-centric concept that closed in July 2024. The menu leaned on sharable small plates and an all-Arizona craft beer lineup.

The Scottsdale restaurant was the second go-round for the concept. Collins opened a French brasserie called St. Urban in uptown Phoenix in 2022, but it lasted only a year.
