Chubby Group, the team behind Chubby Cattle, Wagyu House and The X Pot, has opened its second Valley concept.
Following Chubby Skewers in Mesa last year, the group has launched Wagyu Master Shabu as a pop-up Arrowhead Fountains Center on the southeast corner of the Loop 101 and Bell in Peoria.
The draw is all-you-can-eat Japanese hot pot built around premium Wagyu, including marbled A5 beef, plus fresh handrolls. Diners cook thin slices of meat in simmering broth at the table.
Why a pop-up? The space will eventually become Wagyu Factory, which pairs tabletop Japanese BBQ with hot pot. That conversion requires design, permitting, and construction, so Wagyu Master lets diners try the group’s meats in the meantime.
Open 5-10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 5-11 p.m. Friday-Saturday.
