Tap N Taco, a New Mexico eatery known for street tacos and beer, opened an Arizona location Monday in the former Serrano’s Mexican Food Restaurant building in downtown Chandler.
The restaurant, on the east side of Arizona Avenue just south of Boston Street, is the second for the brand, which four partners – Joshua Martinez, Juan Estala, Joel Marquez, and Javier Chavira – launched in Rio Rancho, N.M., in 2021.
Martinez and his wife, Anna, are Chandler residents who own Safe T Professionals, a staffing company in downtown Chandler. They bought the 13,250-square-foot Serrano’s property in 2024.
Tap N Taco takes over the restaurant side of the building. The former banquet halls are slated to become shared offices for local entrepreneurs.
What’s on the menu
The menu is built around $2 street tacos: asada, al pastor, barbacoa, chicken, sausage, potato, and beer-battered shrimp or cod. The same fillings top quesadillas ($7) and loaded fries, nachos, and baked potatoes ($8.50 each).
Birria, offered Mondays and Tuesdays, comes as tacos ($9.99) with consommé for dipping, or over fries, nachos, or a potato. Churros, aguas frescas, and a full bar round things out.
Hours
Tap N Taco is open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-midnight Friday-Saturday, and 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday.
