Hook N’ Cleaver brings butcher-counter swagger to Scottsdale

There’s a new meat market in town, and it isn’t shy about its standards.

Hook N’ Cleaver Premium Market has opened on the northwest corner of Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard and 100th Street in north Scottsdale. It’s a scratch kitchen and butcher shop that promises whole ingredients and no seed oils, ever.

The butcher case sells NY strips, filets, ribeyes, organic chicken, duck, and fresh fish and shrimp by the pound.

What’s on the menu

The lunch counter is where it gets dangerous. Try the $20 pastrami, a Wagyu brisket slow-cooked for 24 hours and stacked on rye with house pickles and slaw. Or go for the $24 Prime Steak Sammy with truffle white cheddar and horseradish aioli.

Salads run $14-20, and grab-n-go deviled eggs come with candied jalapeño. Don’t leave without a tub of their cowboy butter.

Hours

Hook N’ Cleaver is open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday.
