Crumbl is crumbling nationally, but Valley stores holding steady

Crumbl has closed at least 60 stores nationwide so far in 2026, according to a fan-run closure tracker. The Utah-based cookie chain, which grew to more than 1,000 locations on viral buzz during the covid pandemic, is now struggling with steep declines. Customer traffic fell 32% year over year in August.

With the novelty wearing off and household budgets tighter, it seems fewer people are willing to pay around $5 for a single cookie. Co-founders Jason McGowan and Sawyer Hemsley stepped down in May, at least 55 franchises are listed for sale, and the company recently laid off headquarters staff.

Are any Valley stores closing?

The good news for local cookie fans is that none of the Valley’s 23 Crumbl stores have appeared on any closure list so far. Still, with more closures expected, keep an eye on your favorite location.
