Birrieria Las Marias has opened its third Valley location on the southwest corner of Thomas Road and Fifth Avenue in midtown Phoenix, right across the street from St. Joseph’s Hospital.
The family-friendly spot built its following at its original west Phoenix restaurant on 83rd Avenue and its Peoria outpost on Olive Avenue.
What’s on the menu
The focus is tacos de birria plus a full lineup of Mexican breakfasts, with generous portions at reasonable prices. Standouts include crispy birria rolled tacos and a cheesy party birria melt.
Morning regulars swear by the chilaquiles in red sauce, and there are sweeter options like Mexican-style French toast and cheesecake pancakes.
To drink, try the El Cantarito cocktail or a chile-rimmed cucumber lemonade.

8 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday and Wednesday-Saturday and 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday. Closed Tuesdays.
