Yelp came out with a list of the top pizzerias in the U.S. and Canada this week, and one from Arizona is in the top 20.

No, it isn’t the legendary Pizzeria Bianco. Or Pomo. Or Il Forno.

Coming in at No. 18 in the rankings is My Slice of the Pie, a not-so-famous Arcadia pizzeria that puts a Southwest twist on New York-style pies.

The pizzeria: My Slice, which describes its offerings simply as ‘‘Mexican pizzas,’’ was launched by Randy Bortin in 2016, but sold to Carlos and Karen Zatarain last April.

  • Its bestseller is the Al Pastor What? The pizza includes grilled pork, asadero cheese, red onion, grilled pineapple, and a jalapeño puree.
  • Right behind it in popularity is the You Gotta Carne Asada. The top appetizer? Elote flatbread.

The ranking: Yelp’s top 100 list, which takes into account review ratings and the number of reviews, doesn’t have the critical weight of, say, a James Beard Award.

  • But My Slice has 600-plus Yelp reviews and an average rating of 4.5 stars (out of 5). Pizzeria Bianco? More than 3,000 reviews and a 4-star rating.

Open: 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday.

📌 Details: 3724 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix (map), 602-956-2098, mysliceofthepiepizzeria.com.

Salad and Go, one of the most successful restaurant concepts to come out of the Valley, opened its first Las Vegas location Monday, the start of a planned rapid expansion across Nevada.

🥗 The menu: Chef-designed salads, wraps, breakfast burritos, and soup.

The growth: The drive-though eatery, which began with a single store in Gilbert in 2013, now has 82 locations in Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, and Nevada.

  • Another 18 locations are scheduled to open in early 2023.

🦞 Did you know: Roushan and Tony Christofellis, the Gilbert couple who created Salad and Go, sold the business in 2020 and recently launched Angie’s Lobster, a drive-through concept offering $9.99 lobster meals.

The menu: Pane Bianco in Los Angeles will serve New York City-style slices and whole 18-inch pies, plus an array of sandwiches.

  • Pizzeria Bianco in Los Angeles will close its lunchtime slice window and offer sit-down service for lunch as well as dinner.
