El Palacio in Chandler has released its schedule of monthly cooking classes for the rest of 2014:.

  • July 20: Fish tacos
  • Aug. 17: Seven Layer Dip and Tequila Sunrises
  • Sept. 21: Chile relleno
  • Oct. 16: Turkey Pipian Tacos
  • Nov. 16: Tamales
  • Dec. 14: Taquitos and Margaritas

The free classes take place at 5 p.m. Sundays at the Mexican restaurant on the northwest corner of Gilbert and Germann roads.

Although the classes are free, space is limited so reservations are required. You can sign up online here.

Zappone’s Italian Bistro in Gilbert will host an Italian feast cooking class and three-course meal on Saturday, May 3.

The demo-style class with some hands-on instruction will be taught by owner/chef Sal Zappone. Recipes also are included.

Ravioli and amaretto mascarpone cheesecake are the focus of this month’s cooking class at Zappone’s Italian Bistro in Gilbert.

From 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, chef-owner Sal Zappone will teach you how to make both items.

The class is $30 plus 18% gratuity, which includes lunch and all the recipes. RSVP: 480-218-2338.

The Sushi Room in Chandler still has a few spots open in its monthly sushi-making class, which will be held from 2-4 p.m. Saturday.

Participants will get a hands-on sushi-rolling lesson, an appetizer, rolls, a self-made roll, and a cold or hot sake bomber for $35.
