The Steelyard, a new 4.6-acre restaurants-and-retail development, will bring a mix of fast-casual and sit-down eateries to the southeast corner of Gilbert and Chandler Heights in south Chandler.

The site formerly was an actual steelyard. The tower that currently sits on the site will be repurposed as a focal point for the center.
‘‘The Steelyard is going to be a special place for the growing neighborhood,’’ Capital Development Group partner Stephen Herman says.
‘‘We have gone to great lengths to bring amenities to the area through a unique blend of retail uses and an emphasis on a modern-industrial agrarian design.’’
The development is about 60% pre-leased, according to Herman. Tenants will include Pita Jungle and High Tide Seafood Bar & Grill.
Restaurants are expected to begin taking over their spaces in April.
